Famously Hawick Self-Guided Experience Tour
An independently led tour which is ideal for individuals and groups of 2, up to a maximum of 6.
Famously Hawick is made up of five premium Scottish producers in one famous Scottish town.
Perfect for independent travellers, a self-guided tour allows you the flexibility to do things your way.
Whether you want to visit all five producers, enjoy a Mill Tour, a Distillery Tour and lunch or refreshments? Here is a suggestion of what your self-guided Famously Hawick Tour could involve.

Visits to all 5 Famously Hawick partner venues - greeted by a representative from each who will provide an introduction to their business and product offering.

Johnstons of Elgin Mill Tour – Duration 1 hour, available Monday to Thursday 11am,12noon and 1pm. Also 10am on Friday – cost per person £9.95.

The Borders Distillery Tour (including tasting) – Duration 1 hour, available Monday to Saturday 11am, 1pm and 3pm. April till October only. Cost £20 per person.

FAMOUSLY HAWICK WALKING TOUR
with John Hogg
Fully guided 4-hour Walking Tour led by Hawick’s very own John Hogg, suitable for 2 people up to a maximum of 6.
Our Famously Hawick Walking Tours provide visitors with a personal introduction to our five premium producers as well as taking in the rich history and heritage of Hawick too.
People from Hawick call themselves “Teries", after a traditional song which includes the line "Teribus ye teri odin". There is a Border Ballad with the same name by James Hogg, The Ettrick Shepherd, from 1819.
As a proud Teri and someone who has worked in the knitwear industry all his life, who better to guide you around the famous Cashmere, Tweed and Whisky Town than Hawick’s very own John Hogg
